Nicola Parente Solo Museum Exhibition at the Manuel Felguerez Abstract Art Museum

Nicola Parente’s exhibition at the Manuel Felguerez Abstract Art Museum in Zacatecas Mexico, will run December 9, 2011 through March 9, 2012. This exhibition titled “Al Borde del Despertar” (“Edge of Awakening”) will feature 30 large scale abstract paintings.

According to Parente, “Art is a venture into worlds that are often only discovered in the attempt to represent them to yourself and others.” He prefers to paint in series, “exploring multiple ways of saying not the same thing, but similar things, related things—things that are in process and could go in a multiplicity of directions. The possibility of awakening is also the possibility of remaining unawakened. Our lives are more circuitous than linear, living in more than one environment, a step forward, a step back, moving through a land with no clear boundaries whose silence we interrupt with both our words as well as our marks of paint, discovering and inventing our futures.”

Nicola Parente Exhibits “In the Light” in Addis Ababa Ethiopia October 18-November 27, 2011

Launching the season at Serenade Art House in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, American-Italian artist Nicola Parente premiers “In the Light,” a photographic exhibition.

“In the Light” came to life after a relentless four-year journey. Parente explored the concept of hidden light, light that is too fast for the human eye to capture. Once Parente disentangled the process of breaking down light a whole world opened to him. The result is a breathtaking collection of work that celebrates the infinite colours of light with none of the photographs having been manipulated by Photoshop. With “In the Light” the viewer is welcomed to enter the light.

“In the Light” Exhibition Runs October 18 – November 27, 2011

Serenade Art House aims to introduce Ethiopian art lovers to creative works from other countries. The season will also launch exhibitions by renowned Ethiopian artists Behailu Bezabith and Bisrat Shibabawe and American artist Olivia Pendagast. Also, the season will include an art exhibition premiering the works of some of Kenya’s most celebrated artists.

See the work of  Nicola Parente, Allan RodewaldTed Lincoln, J. Coleman Miller and Andrew Schrock at the RED DOT Art Fair during Art Basel week in sunny Miami Florida, December 1st thru the 5th. AleatoricArt is a Houston based gallery of selected international artists who allow the laws of physics to guide their creative vision, seeking out art born of natural causes and daring to leave some things purely to chance. By developing a deeper artistic understanding of the forces that have governed our universe since the beginning of time, these courageous innovators have discovered unique ways of collaborating with nature to produce some of the most beautiful and compelling chance-based images in contemporary art. AleatoricArt made its  debut at the Aqua Art Fair in 2009 and was quite an attraction at the event. This year the gallery presents 5 selected artists whose most recent creations and latest techniques will be on display, and all of the artists will attend the show.
