A temporary site specific installation by Nicola Parente and Tami Moschioni

About Art Uniti. Nicola Parente and Tami Moschioni partnered to form Art Uniti in 2017 focused on civic art projects collaborating with other creative Houston artists in an interactive practice.  Civic artworks are often temporary, multidisciplinary, steeped in color theory and implement public engagement instigating multicultural interaction.

Media:  Mulch, 1,700 cut recycled PVC, 600 ft reclaimed vinyl, donated paint, reclaimed wood crates and lumber, mulch, and printed material for collage

Dimensions: Labyrinth 79’ diameter with 15’ diameter basket

Scaped Senses demonstrates a public interactive,  temporary art installation with Houston’s Near Northside.  Community workshops created poetic, painted PVC grasses to align a 79 foot diameter labyrinth. Walking paths led to a central monumental, basket sculpture constructed from reclaimed wood, gas piping and 600 feet of recycled vinyl.  YES Prep East End art students painted the vinyl that residents weaved stripped vinyls onto the frame.  Over 300 volunteers and community partners participated.  Scaped Senses was created in response to flared racial tension post the stabbing of a hispanic youth and became a colorful, meditative healing space.
