“THERE IS A MEANING IN EVERY JOURNEY THAT IS UNKNOWN TO THE TRAVELER.”
—Dietrich Bonhoeffer
These words by Dietrich Bonhoeffer inspire Nicola Parente’s new work Journey. In these expressive abstract paintings, imbued with movement, Parente draws the viewer into the journey as traveler. According to Parente, “I explore the ever changing urban landscape. The stop and start cadence is a time relative to our old landscape and a reflection of new movement. New visual relationships between the old and the new creates the universal phenomenon of where we belong, a sense of place.”
